Hey Tool fans... I like Tool, but nout enough to have purchased one of their CDs, now that I want to, where do I begin? What ONE Tool CD should I pick up? What ONE wowed you and made you think they were a great band? Don't say all of them. You know it isn't true. Every band has a disc or two that you need to really love the band to get into, I'm not there yet though...

Thanks!

AEnima hooked me , but Lateralus grabbed me. Pick Opiate. JK ... I'd say AEnima is the way to go.

- I'd start off with Lateralus (which is their most recent album) and work your way backwards.

- Aenima is great also, but I just would recommend Lateralus, because you'll get slightly more music for your buck.

I think Undertow is the easiest to get in to. You don't have to listen to it a bunch of times to get in to it (which i did with lateralus Aenima) If it's between Lateralus and Aenima, then i would go Aenima.

I dont like Undertow all that much at all actually.

Lateralus is the best musically, I could easily listen to that album 2 or 3 times in a row. Aenima just blows you away as well, and is much harder. I love them both. I disagree about getting into it with Undertow.

Lateralus for me but you need to get aenima as well i would get them both at the same time.

Undertow has some good songs on there but is lacking in comparison as an album to the others.

I'd go with AEnima. I picked it up back in the day not knowing if Tool was even a rock band or not. Well, basically it changed my taste in music and things to come. Good start.

i'd start from their first album, undertow (opiate's an e.p.). then move on to aenima, then to lateralus. you'll appreciate the progression as you go along. then pick up opiate at your leisure.
