I won't be posting much here cause I'm a Jays fan and will spend most of my time crying, but I think we need a baseball thread here. So, who are you cheering for? Who are you rooting against? And who do you want to lose every single game and then get a serious case of genital herpes? (Editor's note: The correct answer is the Yankees)

I was listening to the Phillies game today and the radio guys mentioned how tomorrow they would be playing the WORLD CHAMPION Boston Red Sox...warms my heart every time I hear it. I despise with the fire of a thousand suns the SKANKEES...Blech, gag, puke...BLECH...I also can't stand the Mets or the Braves. I like the Phillies in the NL only because I live in Philly and get to go to games. They are going to suck this year, though.

nascar is exciting because of how close together the cars run
in formula 1 sometimes its boring when 1 person gets a lead and then just runs away to the finish... but in nascar if you are in the lead you have a pack of cars chasing you down

I always liked Jeter until he let slip that lame-ass comment about the best team not always winning after the ALCS was over. That pissed me off, seeing as how that series will go down in Yanks/Sox history as one of the most memorable ever. Cripes, he has four rings. Anyway, I still think he's more of a class act than that wuss A-Rod...After he bitchslapped Arroyo, that was the last straw. Somebody better whip that ass into shape. I despise him.

Bitter? Me? :jerk:
Awww, c'mon. Leave it my Sox to gag and lose the ones they are supposed to win.
That's cool about Slash playing, though. The ballpark was renovated, right? So, it's kind of new digs.

Not really new digs...it was renovated to look older. Gone with the concrete look, in with brick.
However, the jumbotron was updated, and two other screens were put in for scores around the league.
But then everything was ruined when the Skydome was renamed the Rogers Centre.
What ball team plays in a "Centre"? Rogers Field? Sure! Rogers Skydome? Even better!
But a fucking Centre? I hope this isn't a trend.

Ahh, I see. I agree about the name change. It sucks. A ballpark is not a Centre or a Center. That's just lame. It's a field, or a stadium, or a park. The FleetCenter (another lame-o name) was changed to Bank North something-or-other Garden, a change that takes effect this summer. I hope nobody calls it by its full name and they just call it the Garden, like the old Boston Garden.

Since the "Official MLB thread" is now the "Official Beck/Dictionary thread," you can all just redirect your baseball posting to this thread.
Braves won, series tied 1 apiece.
Chisox beating the Bosox 2 - 0 in their series.
Angels and Yanks are tied at 1.
And the Cards are ahead of the Padres 2 - 0, and should sweep them with no difficulty since the Padres got in with a record comparable to the Blue Jays.

I'm for the Braves!
 I've been a Braves fan since 1987. And it's all due to damn TBS and its outreach program of luring in susceptible minds that are tired of being constantly bombarded by hometown favorites.
I'm a new-found fan of Boston now that they beat NY :) That was an awesome WS.
I also despise the Yankees, just because.

The funny thing is clowns are supposed to make you laugh.. just kidding. The funny thing is the first Braves game that I've seen this entire season was last night's playoff game against the Astros. I don't watch that much broadcast television. I haven't had cable in years and I feel no real urge to get it.
I  you.
:hug2: I'm just being honest...superficial..but honest nonetheless. :wink2:

OMG, I  you even more. I'm the same way. I ditched cable about 10 or 12 years ago and haven't missed it at all. I am met with such incredulity when this topic comes up. People are perplexed that I don't have cable and am such a sports fan. I'm like, have you heard of newspapers and radio? Much cheaper than cable :bleu: Plus, there still is enough sports on free TV to satisfy my lust.

Braves/'Stros series tied 1 apiece
Chisox swept the Bosox 3 - 0, and actually have a longer curse than the Red Sox had. The last time Chicago won a series was 1917.
Angels pull ahead of the Yanks...okay, just for bleu...the SKANKS 2 - 1 in the series
Cards are ahead of the Padres 2 - 0 and should sweep tomorrow.

- I'd actually prefer to see the Cards go 4 or 5 games in this series. I don't like it when they're well rested after a sweep.
