Nice pictures Capt, that is some pretty impressive scenery. I like the sunlight on the cobble`s, the contrast changes within the picture are great.
I like the color`s in the picture of the band too, the wood that the stand up bass and the piano case are made from adds a lot of warmth to the scene...

they are from a couple different amazing places. i use a canon s5is and sometimes i remember to bring my tiny tripod with me, but most of the time i forget it at home. i don't have any special lenses or anything cool like that.
the decor at the place that band plays looks like they robbed a value village. its pretty awesome.

if you are using firefox you can copy the link location and open it in a new tab and it will shrink it to fit your screen. i guess that is kind of a pain in the ass. i like them big because they fit on my screen.

except for the instructions on how to prove you are the correct age to receive beer. this was so weird and the machine beeps randomly as you swipe your passport through the slot. i think you have to swipe the passport 4 or 5 times correctly in a row before the light comes on so you can buy beer. if you take too long putting in coins then you have to start again.

Capt

it never gets cold in denmark. freetown was cool. the hash was good. it wasn't the idealistically happy paradise-town that you might expect but i think it was nicer than amsterdam. there is pics (most of the place is no pictures allowed) of some of the graffiti on previous pages

April 8th, 2009, 11:53 AM
oh, I must have missed them. I thought it dipped below 50s. I enjoyed freetown way more than amsterdam, maybe because I wasn't in a crazy party/hooker mood while in amsterdam. I was looking to stock up for the rest of my travels into finland and laplands.
yes, the hash there is good, like loafs of bread.
Capt

keeping with my general style i managed to badly damage another rental snowboard
http://i42.tinypic.com/15cecjm.jpg
this brings my total of snowboards used to 5 for 6 days of snowboarding this winter. i didn't break a board (for 2 consecutive days) at a resort which was above the treeline and had so much snow that all the rocks were nicely covered.

The pics are really cool capt and I bet the slopes where a lot steeper than they look, I hope that you did not have to put a deposit on that snowboard and if you did they should have supplied you with sturdier equipment.
The church ceiling looks as though it has secret masonic code scattered around the dome and if I could write novels I would use it as a reference piece for my next book...:asif:... Hands off Dan Brown it was my idea first ! ......
Just how is the beer in France Capt (if you are still there that is) I heard they flavour it with garlic and stick froggy emblems on the front of the bottles...

i was only there for a weekend watching the horrifying spectacle of the marathon. kroneberg 1664 is pretty tasty and also they had some kinds of leffe and grimbergen(both belgian) that i hadn't tried which were both strong and tasty. also i drank lots of wine and brought lots of wine back with me. even their 3rd cheapest champagne was pretty good. and french cheese is also cheap and tasty.
that church was super weird because the dome part is like a greek church and the rest of it is like a french church. it sits on top of the biggest hill in the city (greek tradition), so the pics of views of the city were all taken from walking around the church. the weather was really nice on friday, saturday and monday but it rained like shit on sunday (marathon day).
the slopes were pretty steep by norwegian standards (their mountains are round at the tops... weird) but manageable. my board was promptly replaced at no charge. i somehow managed to ruin 2/5 snowboards i used this winter during 6 days of snowboarding. awesome.
im off to bergen tomorrow with my parents so ill have some interesting pictures from that wheni get back

Cool, I look forward to seeing them, they are some places that I will probably never visit so it is nice to have a first hand look at them. The last place on earth I would wish to find myself is on top of a mountain with a piece of carbon fiber ? attached to my feet and a one in 10 gradient in front of me covered in snow. I would be calling for mountain rescue and waiting for them to arrive with a large bottle of brandy.
I did forget the French do make good cheese and grow nice grapes. I hope you enjoy Bergen. Have a great time and watch out falling tourists and try not to break any more boards ...
