people have to sign up with a personal email addy (*one that's tied to their work, school, isp) and they receive an email asking them to confirm in case they put in a fake. if the email addy is legit, i get a new user notification via email.

i then make sure that the email supplied is in fact from one of these three categories*. if it is, then i let them through. if they joined just to troll, i'll be getting in contact with their school, work, or isp.
