At least they won't try and muscle the Titans for our pick for a WR, leaving my team to hopefully get Mike Williams.

mike tice interviewed mike williams at the combine and asked him how he feels about replacing randy moss..... so don't get your hopes up

He won't be there at 7. The Titans have talked to him as well, and his old OC, and our new one, Norm Chow is campaigning day and night for us to draft him.

Braylon Edwards > Mike Williams
I wish there was some chance in hell that he would fall to #9.

I don't think Edwards will be on the board at 6, let alone nine, but who knows. However, if Mike Williams can play like his last year at USC, he has better hands than Edwards I think.

not really.... he's a dick.... he doesn't give a 100 percent.... he's not a team player.... they're better off without him

The Raiders love that kind of player.

Maybe so , but he was still one of the best players they had and his trade might destroy the moral of the team.

it will have the opposite effect.... he had no presence in the locker room... the team is officially culpepper's now.... they don't need quitters like moss

Edwards won't make it past 4, and could easily end up going at 1. He has greater speed, explosiveness, and is stronger than Williams. Williams is only 2 inches taller, though he does have somewhat better hands, but Edwards problems with dropped passes were grossly exaggerated. He flat out took over games and dominated. It's rare that you find a guy at wideout that wills his team to victory like you saw with Edwards this year.
I'm curious if you've watched any of the combine the last few days. Williams looked very slow with zero burst during his 2 attempts in the 40. He's not going to be able to get away with muscling DB's off the line in the NFL like he could in college. He needs to somehow get quicker off the line, and I don't see it happening with him, especially considering he has a very hard time controlling his diet and can't keep weight off.

Thats the rumors around Baptist Park. But if DJ is there at 6 I see us snagging him up. But with the departure of Mason, and a new OC, with Mcnair talking about retiring, drafting a top tier WR could play into Mcnair coming back. However, there will be good WR's over the next couple rounds, but Reese already said we want to draft the best available player at 6. We got Bennett, and a lot of upside in Calico, but he is coming off a serious injury.

I guess we'll see. I still say the vikes suck with or without him.

The Vikings will always suck till they learn that it takes a defense to win Super Bowls. They are already loaded on offense without Moss. It would be foolish to take an offensive player at 7 with all of their needs on defense. They would be much better off taking Antrelle Rolle or Pacman Jones.

Yeah I've been watching the combine, and his 4.55 40 isn't stellar, but I think he will have a better NFL career than Edwards, just an opinion. When Williams was playing he was the talk of the NCAA at WR position. I think Edwards benefitted from Williams not playing this season as far as his draft value goes. However, Edwards did a lot with a rookie qb and is a good prospect. I would be thrilled to have either of them on my the Titans, but am more so in favor of Williams. He wasn't planning on working out, and did. What was Edwards 40 at the combine? Oh, that's right he decided not to run. I think GM's, coaches and scouts have to hate that.

didnt they get a good defensive player?

40 time is over-rated though... look at anquan boldin.... had a 40 time in the 4.60 range.... he seems to be doing just fine

What people don't realize is that he ran that 4.70 after a major leg injury he hadn't fully recovered from. He now runs in the low 4.4's like he did before the injury.

I think Napolean Harris will do better in a 4-3 offense.

i don't believe that anquan boldin ever ran a 4.4..... sorry.... even so.... 40 time is still over-rated.... game speed cannot be measured at the combine

The problem with Williams is he ran those bad times on a fast track. That and as I said before, showed zero burst in the first 10 yards. I think he has more of a chance of becoming another Meshawn than being a superstar.

i'm not sure who will be better, edwards or williams.... both are big-time playmakers.... i actually heard rumors that the oakland/minny trade was going to involve philip buchanon and one of the vikes RBs as well.... which would be much better in my opinion.... let them keep harris, and the vikes could draft derrick johnson

They are apparently working on dealing Bennett to the Cards for L.J. Shelton.

the ideal (yet realistic) trade with oakland right now would be :
Moss and 1 of their RBs for Buchanon, 1st round pick, and late round pick
then they could draft Johnson at 7 maybe.... would kick their Defense in the pants right away

that's a waste if you ask me.... why do they need another lineman... their o-line is one of the best.... makes no sense.... they need defensive help.... period

I like this trade. Moss was a cancer for the Vikes this year. I'd rather we have an average player that plays his heart out every night instead of a superstar asshole that makes a couple great plays and picks and chooses when he plays hard.
Culpepper could throw a touchdown pass to a quadriplegic. We don't need Moss.

This is going to really hurt Minnasotas offenceive scheme of close your eyes and throw the ball long to moss.
