South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy.... i used to like Daria and Bevis & Butthead, but they don't really come on anymore.
I always wondered why they canceled Daria.

Yeah, Daria ruled. I used to identify myself with her a lot too. And I would have loved to have Trent as a boyfriend (though his lyrics were awful).

I did really good until I went to Borders a few weeks ago--they were running a "buy 3 get 1 free" DVD sale. So I went out of there with 4 DVDs. The last time I bought DVDs before that though was probably during the summer.
I'm trying to get my finances in better shape. :eek2:

I wanted to buy Napoleon Dynamite for a while, but now I have a growing hatred for that movie. I'm going to have to take down my poster for it and everything if this doesn't stop. People quoting it so much has made me want to vomit at any mention of it. :(
And the number one items on my list right now are Family Guy and the 4 Superman movies.

February 5th, 2005, 11:39 PM
My first priority after the portable DVD player is getting Star Wars IV - VI.
Heath
February 5th, 2005, 11:42 PM
I have those.
They pissed me off.
bdf
February 5th, 2005, 11:43 PM
My brother has already given me the scoop on what's been changed, but I'll reserve judgement until I get them.
Heath
February 5th, 2005, 11:47 PM
I wasn't too upset with it, but then the more I sat around and thought about what was wrong with them, I got pissed. :ontome:
bdf
February 5th, 2005, 11:48 PM
Yeah, I see your point. But.......I guess that Lucas is trying to have the whole set of movies have more continuity or something.
Heath
February 5th, 2005, 11:49 PM
Yeah that's it.
The one that pissed me off was when they were playing the music in Jabba's Palace.
bdf
February 5th, 2005, 11:50 PM
I'll know what you're talking about when I get them--my brother didn't mention that. Was that in IV or VI?
Heath
February 5th, 2005, 11:51 PM
VI.
bdf
February 5th, 2005, 11:53 PM
Did Lucas change the music AGAIN, or was it the same stuff from the Special Editions a few years back?
Heath
February 5th, 2005, 11:57 PM
Well I couldn't exactly remember what it was, there was just something that seemed off. I haven't popped in my VHS ones to check and make sure I'm not crazy yet though.
Was there sining in the Special Edition ones? It seemed off when there were people singing.
bdf
February 5th, 2005, 11:59 PM
Yeah, it was the three alien girls singing before Jabba's slave girl got "accidentally" fed to the Rancor.
Heath
February 6th, 2005, 12:00 AM
That just seemed to off to me for some reason. I'd never seen it before, but then again I was 4 in the morning.
bdf
February 6th, 2005, 12:01 AM
Hmmm......it might be the same scene, but I'd have to get the DVDs to be able to tell for sure.
Heath
February 6th, 2005, 12:03 AM
It's the same thing, but I've seen the Special Editions and I was thinking, "What in the hell?"
Were those girls always singing, or was that added in the SE?
bdf
February 6th, 2005, 12:05 AM
Naw, Lucas changed that scene for the SE.
Heath
February 6th, 2005, 12:08 AM
Well the old VHS box set I've got is from '95, so that might not have been in those. I knew I wasn't totally nuts.
bdf
February 6th, 2005, 12:10 AM
No, you're not. I have the original versions too, and that changed scene was most definitely NOT in Jedi the first time around.
Heath

Score! Thank you for making me realize I'm not losing it. :pepper:

But back to the subject line with a random question.
How many seasons of The Simpsons are there anyway? Like 12?
bdf
February 6th, 2005, 12:20 AM
Holy crap, probably. Not too sure though--I'm sure that Amazon has them all though.
Heath
February 6th, 2005, 12:23 AM
No, only 5 of them have been released so far.
Judas, where are you man?!

The Judas Cow
February 6th, 2005, 04:25 AM
Heh, yeah, I do know that off the top of my head, the season on TV right now is infact #16
The Judas Cow
February 6th, 2005, 04:29 AM
and only 5 are available on DVD
They are coming out at a rate of about one every 9 months or so.
This should pick up though becuase Matt Groening is sitting in on every DVD comentary, as he did with Futurama, but now that he is done with all the Futurama DVDs and this is looking like it will be the last season of the "The Simpsons" He should be able to devote more time to the "The Simpsons" DVDs
bdf
February 6th, 2005, 04:56 AM
But really and truthfully, The Simpsons should go out at the top of their game. Just my opinion, of course.

But back to the subject line with a random question.
How many seasons of The Simpsons are there anyway? Like 12?
I think the current season is the 13th. And DEFINITELY the old Simpsons own the new. They still have good moments too, but is not the same.
Another random question: which are your favourite episodes?. Mine is probably the rock festival one (with the Smashing Pumpkins and stuff). My favorite Simpson moment, though, is that on the juvenile hockey episode when Homer tries to eat the pie and gets his head bashed. Classic!.
EDIT: I´ve failed miserabily: it´s the 16th season. Shame on me :shame:

"Ok pie, I am going to start biting the air like this, and if you get eaten, it's not my fault."
I think my favorite episode is where Homer house sits for Mr. Burns and he takes his yatch out to international waters for "the wildest box social the high seas have ever seen"
A third random question: Nostawen, do you prefer to watch the Simpsons in spanish or english?
Nostawen
February 6th, 2005, 05:32 PM
The series are always better on their original language. But I´ve got to see the Simpsons in english just a few times, mainly downloading some stuff. They´re aired on spanish only here, and my cable system doesn´t have any channel that has them in english. :(. The translation is very good, though, the voices sound pretty similar to the original ones.
