I pre-ordered it, but now that the only version being released in the US is the value pack @ $250.00, I may reconsider my pre-order. Besides, after seeing the game line-up at launch, I don't see anything that catches my interest. I thought Death, Jr. was supposed to be a launch title, yet, I have yet to see it mentioned.

I purchased the most recent PSM mag which included a disc w/many, many short videos of PSP games. I must admit, the more I watched all those games in action, the more I really wanted a PSP.

I remember getting a GameBoy when they first released. I was the s*** at school, EVERYONE wanted to play it. It was $100 back then....

Then I look at the PSP. Sure, it's $250 total, but man, it definitely seems worth it! I will be getting the extended warranty, though. That's pretty much a given when buying a Sony product.

On average, how long does that usually take?

The GBA went down in price after Nintendo released the GBA SP. But that's Nintendo. Sony didn't lower their price on the PS2 until AFTER Microsoft dropped the Xbox's price (most recent pricedrop).

Is that how Sony works? They wait to see what other competitors are doing? I mean, I don't know. It sure looks that way.

Well, I decided to keep my pre-order and have it paid off! Whoo hoo! The closer March 24th gets, the more excited I get. Reserved three games: Mercury, Lumines, and Ridge Racers. Was wanting Death, Jr. but looks like it doesn't come out until May.

From the reviews I've read, and videos I've seen of Ridge Racers, it looks really fun. Although I'm not a fan of racing games, this one looks pretty cool. I keep seeing it referred to as an "arcade racer".

How does an "arcade racer" differ from other racing games? They all seem the same to me, but like I said, not normally a fan of the racing genre.

Not to sound like a fanboy, but it's just a week away now! Whoo hoo! I'm trying to keep from getting swept up by all the hype, but I'm pretty excited about picking up my PSP next Thursday.

The April issue of OPM has some good articles about it. They even have a "history of handhelds", which was good reading.

Decided to get Ridge Racers and maybe Wipeout Pure.

Also getting Lumines and Mercury. Plus, the system comes w/a demo disc and the Spiderman 2 movie (which I haven't seen yet), so it's all good.


Who else is getting the system? What games?
