we used that for a while, but my wife prefers cooking it in a pan or baking it.

At work (grocery store) some people cook steak on a george foreman for lunch...they say it's good and it smells awesome...especially with that Pappy's seasoning. Unfortunately I never tried it

i guess it's ok if you don't have a willing female cook to make it for you.

If you can spend the money, get one where you can take the grilling plates out to clean them. I have one of those little tiny ghetto ones, and while it cooks great, it's a bitch and a half to clean.

I live off the Foreman grill. And as far as cleaning it, its much easier to clean if you do it immediately after cooking, while the grill is still hot. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

cleaning them sucks
he'd have to clean pots and pans either way.
since you're going the portable grill route, i also suggest picking up a grilled cheese sandwich maker (as you could make endless sandwich combinations), and a portable burner (preferably a two-burner). you could boil eggs, hot dogs, corn, etc.

my mom had gotten a GF grill for a wedding gift for someone and hadn't given it to them yet, so she told me i could just open that and take that one and she will get them something else. :D
i haven't tried to cook anything with it yet, but my brother did.. and it was a disaster. I think the problem was that the chicken breast was huge.. so it would have probably worked if we cut them in half or something.

- Don't use the Foreman for hamburgers...it turns the meat into rubber.

Oh yeah- one more thing- if you spray Pam on the grill first, the meat won't stick nearly as bad. They don't tell you to do that, but it helps a lot.

I love the things, just make sure to get a big one so you can cook some decent sized meat on it.
