90% of the threads on this board are ghey followed by 400 posts with nothing but smiley icons but that is besides the point.

As far as the Panthers being injured, a good part of that Rangers team was rookies.(pratically) And the only reason the score wasn't 400 - 0 is because Luongo is a great fucking goalie.

i didn't make my post to be cantankerous, but you obviously took it that way. and btw, if the posts here are so ghey, i suggest looking for a more intelligent messageboard since i'm sure they'll need your "I'm going to subway, bitches" threads.

i don't know why you even brought this into the conversation. was it burning you up inside so much that you had to mention it?

that was my point as well. the panthers without their key vets are a bunch of kids playing (like last year). ooh, i don't know, weiss, horton, olesz, kolnik, campbell, krajicek, etc., those don't look sound like first and second year players to you?

i'm not debating whether or not the rangers outworked the panthers last night, because they sure as hell did, but you gotta also look at the intangibles as well. not to mention those two goals you guys scored on 5-on-3 powerplays with jagr on the point. yeah, he's a hell of a rookie. :sarcasm:

Take away his 2 goals and they still win with 2 goals by 2 different rookies.

you didn't. i just mentioned jagr since you guys have a superstar player and he was responsible for half of your goals.

Take away his 2 goals and they still win with 2 goals by 2 different rookies.
yeah, but coming back from a 2-goal deficit is easier (psychologically) than a 4-goal deficit. maybe we did deserve to be down 2 guys for two straight goals, but it's not like the rangers weren't playing dirty.

Jagr is a superstar player but it is not like he was when he was is in his prime. But, he is a HUGE part of the Rangers. Now that he is with Straka, it is a nice threat. Our first goal was from a rookie that played on the WolfPack last year, btw. Can't blame Jagr for the Panthers' undisciplined play. Rangers weer playing dirty?...please. One of the Rangers barely got near Luongo and we were called for interference. the Rangers forced all those penalties you guys took by hard work.

Ranger fans have been hearing shit about this and that and this and that for 65 years (sans that one glorious season). Now with the cap and teams on an even playing field and they are playing like a team and winning games, I am finally happy to watch them play.

Why you get so worked up over a post about your favorite team losing a regular season game 2 weeks in? It's not like I went on and on how the Rangers wiped up the rink with the panthers.

didn't i say you guys deserved the win? you totally outworked us last night, i'm not denying that fact, but to say that there weren't missed calls on the rangers is complete and utter b.s. and you know it. i'm more pissed off at the panthers than the rangers, btw.

and i hate to break this to you, but refs are starting to crack down on goalie interference. it's not just because it was luongo.

Then you are totally reading my threads the wrong way

i am?

yeah, look at all superstars

You said "we were missing our key vets"

i didn't say that our vets were the superstars of the team or anything, but when mike keenan brought them in it was to help guide the group of young players we have on this team and at least show them how to get out of tough situations (i.e. rangers on home ice last night). you would think that would play a major role in why we played so sloppy.

It's not like I went on and on how the Rangers wiped up the rink with the panthers.

i got worked up? i made a response post JOKINGLY to take a jab at you and you responded with what you responded with. i'm obviously going to defend myself.

anyways, my point was that it's one thing to have your team lose, but i just don't like people rubbing it in. maybe it's just me, cause i'm not like that myself, but i will defend my team and the board (since you decided to go after that for whatever reason) to the death.

i don't expect us to win every game. in fact, i expect us to lose quite a few games before this team comes anywhere near where they need to be as a unit. injuries are putting a damper on that right now, which sucks since it is early in the season. to make things worse, we play the freaking devils tonight at new jersey. :shame:

Hate to break this to you but, I never said it was BECAUSE it was Luongo?....He happened to be the goalie when Nylander barely touched and was called for it. Did I say it was a BS call?....no. And the reason I mentioned the board was because I thought it was ironic you called my thread gay and then you bring up my old Subway threads, when a majority of the posts are indeed three posts with text, then 80 more with nothing but smiley faces. Thing is, I don't get all worked up about it. I never mentioned it before because frankly, who gives a shit? I dont really care if all the posts are smiley shit, I simply don't read (look at) them.

the goalies are bitching about it now. i happen to agree with them given that they have all these new rules to help players score.

i was calling the thread gay in jest, since you were saying rangers > panthers. that's all. then i mentioned that subway thing to show you that everyone here posts silly stuff. whatever, i'm tired of arguing about this.

Funny how these guys can get all "obnoxious" berating the Rangers, but god forbid someone makes a thread when they win and the world shuts down.
i only posted in this thread because the panthers were involved and i love them. for all i care you could make a rangers are #1 thread everyday for the next ten years, but if it mentions a team i like, i'm obviously gonna say something to at least joke with you.

now if anyone else has a problem with it (mentioning the rangers), that's their deal.

anyways at least it made time go by faster as now it is 12pm and time for a new thread.

as far as the new rules concerning goaltenders, I think it is a little too black and white and will think it is a crap rule until they iron it out. I understand the reason, but when Nylander (just using him as an example) grazed Luongo, I think it is a little ridiculous., but it is not my league, so be it

whatever. we'll squash it right here.

p.s. i missed the nylander penalty as i was changing channels out of frustration. but they need to define this rule a little more clearly. they're calling a ton of penalties as it is.

It was the "right" call on Nylander considering the rule changes, but he was skating from behind the net and barely touched Luongo and it was a penalty. Seemed a little ridiculous, but for now, it is zero tolerance for the rule.

maybe because they deserved to get torn apart for the last 6 years or so. For a long time they were underacheiving, overpaid, getting that last paycheck team and I'd watch just hoping for a tie. I never give up on them, though. Just tell it like it is. I stuck up for them but it was getting ridiculous. How should we be? This fucking salary cap is the best thing that ever happened imo. Now I dont have hear about them being the highest payroll bottom of the barrell "team".

My attitude is more like "It's about fucking time"

When did I bash the team for losing?....I have been bashing Poti since he got here and until he changes his lazt ways, i will still bash him. Just because he is on the Rangers I should never say he sucks?....he is a lazy fuck that cant keep the puck in the zone?

Because we're fans.

Montreal was sucking dick instead of playing hockey from 94 till 03, there was no denying it. I did have their history to keep me satisfied however.
Some Bizzle: "Hey, Montreal sucks!"
Me: "Hey, 24 Stanley Cups"

Now they are playing well, and I'm extremely happy.

When was the last time Detroit had a shitty team? You've been spoiled young one.

i'm not talking just hockey... just NY sports in general...
i admit when the Tigers and Lions and Pistons are bad, but at the first sign of a turn around, i don't get all "FUCK ALL HATERS! LIONS RULE!!! LIONS > ALL"... that's just bullshit.

i guess what i'm trying to say is let them go on a tear of just demolishing every team they face before you get all complacent.
i'm low key about the red wings, and they're far better than the rangers.

okay, in seriousness...

that's just how new yorkers are :sarcasm:

or maybe everyone is like that. maybe new york just has that kind of luck where its teams may be the best in the league one year and the worst the next. or maybe it's just a coincidence that the new yorkers you've seen are like that.

and if you're using me as an example, it's not that i "tear" my team apart, it's that i'm dissapointed and give up hope pretty fast. i still stick by my team, i'll still go to a game or watch on tv.. that's just me, of course. :what:

agent: that's sweet

you're just jealous cause rangers > you and your team

i find that completely laughable. i missed that earlier... Rangers > Red Wings? Yeah, um... NO.

and Patty, i never claimed that YOU personally bashed the Rangers... but practically every New Yorker I know... the last couple of years, just absolutely rip apart the Rangers, but now they're taking this start of the season and running with it... yeah, they seem to be better than before... leave it at that... do you honestly feel like the Rangers are capable of running the table and taking the cup? There are a lot of teams out there with better odds of that.
...and with the Yankees this year, they started off bad, and got the shit from the fans, then they picked it up again and all of a sudden, they're the unstoppable dynasty again. it's just across the board in every sport., when you're down, you're rock bottom, and when you're up, you're better than everone.

I see what your saying but dont agree 100%

I think it is because NY fans are the first to bitch when there team is sucking ass. It's not like we give up on them....just that when these guys are getting top dollar to perform and they don't, we let them know
