The law is that everyone is allowed two reports a year, isn't it?

My credit card company gives me my score for free. When I log on to my account on their website, there is a tab that gives my credit score that gets updated every month with a history of how its changed and some other info.

I just checked my credit score yesterday- 712!!! :woo:

I'm very happy with that. It was really bad before, because of a small dispute with the company that used to own Target. It was not my fault, but the company put it on my report as a negative. When Target split themselves off from Dayton Hudson Corporation, the negative was taken off of my credit report, because I guess since you don't have any way to resolve it, then they can't hold it against you...yeah.

Yeah, that's the kicker. You get the report itself for free, which helps you make sure that you don't have any weird stuff going on like identity theft...but you still have to pay the companies if you want your actual score.

KenKill75
October 14th, 2005, 02:02 PM
By the way, your credit score goes down if it gets checked too many times in a short period of time.

Joga
October 14th, 2005, 02:03 PM
Ya. I hate that credit companies pretty much have ultimate power over your life. It's ridiculous. You can get turned down for a job, or pay higher insurance rates, just because of your credit. I think it's bullshit. I shouldn't have to pay for a mistake (that wasn't my fault) from six years ago.

I was at 766 when we applied for the mortgage, but since the move and those fuckers not changing the address at the CC company, I have two late payments. wnoder how bad it affected my score.

something that adversely affected my credit score was when this assfucker living up in kentucky took out a chase credit card under my name. that, and a little misunderstanding i had with mbna.

ah, fuck 'em.

we're planning on sealing off the sliding glass doors in the bedroom with a wall and a window, replacing the sliding glass (that by a miracle wasn't bashed in by the hurricane) and putting something else there...we haven't decided just what yet. we also plan on adding shutters, making various home improvements here and there, and paying off a few other things.

I found good information about this on http://www.CreditReportMonster.com, there are many resources out on the Internet about the topic.

I was too. But then I clicked the link, filled out a dozen easy surveys, submitted to a couple of offered advertisements, signed a few petitions and my new iPod should be here within 12-16 weeks. :nanner24:

yeah....you get a free credit score with a 30% APR on interest! What a deal!! :dopey: That way....you're reminded of your bad credit score every time you log on to see if that $30 miminum payment's gone through so you can go back and max it out again.
