We should go out sometime, drink a few beers and tear each others heads off over sports franchises

 I feel your pain. It was like that for me last night. Canadiens vs. Rangers. I despise them both and it's hard to actually root for either one, though since the Habs are in my division, it's better if they lose, even if it is against the *cough* Rangers *cough* *gag* *choke* *spit*

that's usually how i choose my teams if i don't have a clear cut favorite.

if i see that i'm neutral on both or hate them equally, i go the division route and root for the team that isn't in my division. if neither team is in my division but one is an eastern team and one is a western, i cheer for the western.

if both teams are eastern, but not in my division, i just go by which jersey i like best or the underdog.

that's how i do it for all the sports. :bleu:

they should just cancel the season and give the cup to the Rangers!..they're going to win it anyway!

put the helmet back on, MAGO. repeatedly bumping your head against the headboard is affecting you.

unless it's the avalanche or the flyers. i always root for the other team (unless it's a team in my division and the playoffs are nearby).

:bleu: Understandable. I know what you mean about Flyers fans, and Philly fans in general, having lived here now for five years and attended a good amount of sporting events ...I wore my Bruins jersey to a Flyers game in Philly, and I took a steady stream of verbal abuse, from my walk to the subway and throughout the whole game. I don't take a lot of shit from people, but being female and having men shout nasties from their cars and actually slow down in their cars just to verbally harass me is pretty mean. I was actually scared a bit and I hadn't even gotten to the subway.
Now, I wouldn't expect them to embrace the enemy, but the vitriol from them was just unnecessary. It wasn't in good fun; it was just nasty and mean-spirited and I actually thought they'd be pouring beer on me. I've been to plenty of games where the opponents' fans show up in the building and people just have a good time with it, in most places. But in Philly, there's a much harder edge to them. Even in NYC it's not that bad. They pity their opponents, and they just act all superior. They aren't nasty.

i only hate the avalanche because they beat us in the 1996 finals. i've never had a problem with their fans. oh, and i hated roy too, but that's beside the point...

i went to a philly/panthers game, and boy, their fans are the most obnoxious pieces of turd ever. we had people harassing panthers fans in their own fucking arena! the thing is that we have a lot of implants from all over the country, so whenever their home team comes to town, they show up in packs. same goes for detroit fans, new york fans, etc., i've only experienced philly fans, so i can't comment on the others.

and i hate tampa gay just because they're our interstate rivals, but i've never had a problem with any of their fans. yet.

Detroit should be respectful as long as you aren't Colorado or St. Louis.

I KNOW!!! They think they own every town they travel to. I'd never go to the enemy's arena and act like it's mine. That's just stupid. They all need to be bitchslapped...We need a bitchslap smilie...Maybe it could feature A-Rod :bleu:
