this will probably come down to whatever team(s) you like, but what the hell...

i'm going with miami/florida state. speaking of which, tomorrow's game is gonna be great.

let's hope miami wins.

No Florida - Tennessee listed?

Darn. I'd probably say Ohio State and Michigan.

jazz
September 4th, 2005, 08:06 PM
well, i included other. i couldn't list them all.

Heath
September 4th, 2005, 08:08 PM
Oh, didn't notice that

jazz
September 4th, 2005, 08:09 PM
who are you going for? miami or fsu?

Heath
September 4th, 2005, 08:10 PM
FSU, only because I hate them less than I hate Miami.

jazz
September 4th, 2005, 08:11 PM
that's it...

pulls out banhammer

Heath
September 4th, 2005, 08:13 PM
I just really hate Miami though

:ontome:

jazz
September 4th, 2005, 08:13 PM
why?

Heath
September 4th, 2005, 08:15 PM
Attitude mostly. Most college teams are bad about it, but they seem to be the worst. All that "The U" bullshit.

jazz
September 4th, 2005, 08:20 PM
 every team that i've seen showboats. especially in the nfl.

Heath
September 4th, 2005, 08:21 PM
I don't watch the NFL, and that's one reason.

Michigan- Ohio State

that was a rivalry before they had the word rivalry to describe it.
and both teams are always so highly ranked

September 5th, 2005, 11:54 PM
I only saw part of the second half. What was with all the sacks, though? :shame: No offense, but I was rooting for FSU, not that I like them but I can't stand Miami :bleu:

i can't stand fsu. i think its because they're sort of the trailer trash university in florida. the football program is completely corrupt. half the players get arrested in the offseason for beating up their girlfriends/stealing/rape/fucking livestock only to be slapped on the wrist and allowed to play. the coaches promote dirty play and their chop/war chant has to be the most fucking retarded, repetitive, and unintelligent of anything in any sport. oh, and fsu isn't exactly known for its academics, which probably explains why they are able to land so many top recruits. :tard:

don't get me wrong, i'm not a fan of miami or tennessee either, but at least they run respectable programs.

go to hell (in a nice way). :bleu:

anyways, i was so pissed last night, i played a game versus fsu in ncaa '06 and beat them 28-7. that helped me go to sleep.

and everything greg said was right on target.

yeah, i was pissed that they dropped a few passes, but what killed miami was their offensive line. 9 sacks? c'mon. not to mention the fact that they abandoned the running game in the second half, plus all the other intangibles and lucky breaks the seminoles got.

i never knew the noles had a guy with the last name 'fagg' on there. can you imagine the amount of ridicule that guy must go through?

MAGO
September 6th, 2005, 08:15 AM
 ...yeah that was funny...their O-Line played horrible....and their running game had 88 yards in the first half :what: ...why not keep running?!....horrible game...

that just makes fsu look even more pathetic then. if we played a terrible game (and we did) and we still only lost by 3 points, that means that they fucking suck.

jazz
September 6th, 2005, 08:18 AM
but hey, i won 28-7. :bleu:

MAGO
September 6th, 2005, 08:19 AM
yeah our only hope is that Miami can beat V-Tech when they play, FSU will lose two games this season, so we still have hope in winning the ACC....

jazz
September 6th, 2005, 08:21 AM
that's the problem with playing such a HUGE game like this as your opener. if you lose, you're fucked.

MAGO
September 6th, 2005, 08:24 AM
actually it's better to lose early in the season...they just have to win by a big margin when they play other ranked teams...

jazz
September 6th, 2005, 08:29 AM
speaking of that fagg player, i had to do a double take when i first heard the announcer say his name. i couldn't believe it.

MAGO
September 6th, 2005, 08:40 AM
yeah that's a pretty messed up name to have...similar to the rb from the Pats whose first name was Ben and his last was Gay..... ..

There is only one. Michigan vs. Ohio St.

It really doesn't get any bigger than that as far as rivalries. They don't call it the "Grandaddy of 'Em All" for nothing. What really makes the rivalry great is that they don't play till the final game of the regular season and it usually determines who wins the Big 10 and a trip to the Rose Bowl. And there's nothing better than smash mouth football in November at the Big House.

i'm going for meechigan. no doubt.

Prolly OSU/Michigan, although I think Notre Dame/Michigan has more significance on an emotional level. Afterall, Michigan taught Notre Dame how to play the game... now we teach them :)

Yea, we got real lucky against Michigan this year. The game wasn't even close, son.

i just think that the history between the two is greater, especially when you throw in the legacy. team A teaches team B, team A and team B go one and two in terms of wins and winning percentage, team B scores most championships/heisman winners.

17-10 isn't close? Listen junior. Don't speak till you know what the fuck you're talking about. Michigan dominated every phase of that game. They had 2 different series in the 4th quarter within the ND 5 yard line and if not for Henne getting hosed on a bogus fumble when the ball crossed the plane Michigan would have tied the game. The only thing ND had over Michigan was they got the calls and Michigan didn't. Plain and simple. Try watching the game next time.

One of the most heated rivalries I've ever been a part of is:

Tennessee vs. Florida :chucks:

The times the matchup was in FL, it was scary as shit.

Florida HATES UT with a passion and vice versa. It's worse that UT vs. Bama.

Fans in "the swamp" would sometimes throw drinks on us in the band, and would then get their asses handed to them by our troopers. :stars: :popo2:

That was always fun to watch.

But to their credit, the Florida band was always extremely nice and courteous to the UT band. They had coolers and coolers of Gatorade for us during the game and especially after halftime performances.

Try wearing two THICK layers of 100% cotton w/a big clunky hat while carrying/playing a sousaphone(tuba) in 90 degree weather w/80% humidity.

This one time, at band camp, I stuck a tuba up my :eek2:

i was at a few of those. the best one was when tee martin spent half the game on his back. i don't really hate ut though and i've actually pulled for them in other games.

the only team i truly hate is fsu.

Texas/Texas A&M, especially when it's in College Station, blows the doors off any other rivalry period.
