he better hope he's clean, or he'll miss the season... :shame:
I think he'll be ok from this incident. He's a big ass dude, he'll need a lot of alchohol to keep him over the limit hopefully lol. Just seems like its messed up that this is the type of trouble he has to get in. He was goin 40 in a 25, now i'm sure most of us could relate to that, its pretty easy to do. I have a street on my way to work that is a 4 lane road, divided by double yellow, doesn't seem residential at all, but it is, and the speed limit is 25. Its very misleading. And then the report says he was impaired to the slightest degree. Seems like a whole lot of nothing.
Now the dolphins guy, I think he was tasered by the police.

NFL's European League Folds (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/F/FBO_NFL_EUROPA_FOLDS?SITE=1010WINS&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT)
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) -- The NFL folded its development league in Europe after 16 years on Friday, calling the decision a sound business move that will allow for a stronger international focus on regular-season games outside the United States.
The announcement came less than a week after the Hamburg Sea Devils beat the Frankfurt Galaxy 37-28 in the World Bowl title game in Frankfurt before a crowd of 48,125. Five of the league's six teams are based in Germany, with the other in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A statement on the German-language edition of the NFL's Web site said the NFL decided to concentrate its "strategies and resources" on regular-season games outside the United States in an effort to reach as many people as possible.
"We thank our fans for the great support in the past years," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was quoted as saying.
Goodell said it was time to develop a new international strategy, terming the move to fold NFL Europa the "best business decision." The league reportedly was losing about $30 million a season.
"From now on we will focus on regular-season games and use new technologies to make NFL more popular worldwide," he said.
NFL team owners decided in October to play up to two regular-season games outside the United States. The first such game is Oct. 28 in London between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants.
The league began in 1991 as the World League of American Football, with 10 teams from the United States and Europe, spreading from Scotland to Spain. After closing for two seasons in 1993 and 1994, the league returned with six European teams and retained the same format until the end.
The league was used by NFL teams to test young talent and produced players such as quarterback Kurt Warner, who led the St. Louis Rams to the 2000 Super Bowl championship and won two NFL Most Valuable Player awards; Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme; and star Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri.
NFL Europa managing director Uwe Bergheim said the league had succeeded in establishing a fan base for football in important European markets.
"Despite the great support of fans, business partners and the cities where we were active, we decided that it was time to change the strategy," Bergheim said.

this is what 'colt' means in the dictionary:
1 a : FOAL (http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/foal); especially : a male foal b : a young male horse that is usually not castrated and has not attained an arbitrarily designated age (as four years)

Jets Agree to Trade Kendall to Redskins (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/F/FBN_REDSKINS_JETS_TRADE?SITE=1010WINS&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT)
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -- The New York Jets have reached an agreement to trade disgruntled veteran Pete Kendall to the Washington Redskins, who hope the 34-year-old lineman will make up for the team's inability to find a suitable starting left guard in the offseason.
Pending a physical, the Jets will receive a fifth-round pick in 2008 or a fourth-rounder in 2009 for Kendall, an official within the NFL said Thursday. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the trade had yet to be completed, also said the Redskins will do what New York wouldn't - give Kendall a raise of approximately $1 million, boosting his salary to about $2.7 million.
It's a trade the Jets needed to make, and one the Redskins had hoped to avoid. Kendall had asked to be traded or released because New York wouldn't renegotiate his contract, and his frustration was evident almost daily at training camp in his statements to reporters and his body language on the practice field - where he stood far from his teammates while the first-team offense practiced.
"We were really comfortable with the trade and the value that we got in the trade," Jets coach Eric Mangini said Thursday. "When this opportunity presented itself, we thought it was a good opportunity and, as always, we're trying to make the best decisions to help the team win."
For the Redskins, the trade essentially ends coach Joe Gibbs' unusually frugal effort to replace Derrick Dockery, who signed a huge contract with Buffalo as an unrestricted free agent in the spring. Gibbs' first option was to talk Todd Wade - a career tackle - into re-signing and moving to guard, but Wade struggled at training camp before hurting his shoulder in the first preseason game.
"I'm not totally surprised," said Wade, who expects to become a backup tackle again. "I'm a little disappointed as far as the timing of all this, but the coaches have to feel confident, and get a guy in there as soon as possible and get him ready for the (season opening) Miami game. Me not being able to get out there and prove myself puts my situation in a bind."
Mike Pucillo, mostly a backup in his four NFL seasons and more naturally a center, took over when Wade was injured, but he was partly responsible for allowing the hit by Brett Keisel that nearly ended quarterback Jason Campbell's season last week against Pittsburgh. Campbell was fortunate to escape with a badly bruised knee and won't play this week against Baltimore.
Running out of options, Gibbs made the trade even though he had hoped to curtail the strategy of trading draft picks, a philosophy that has slowly depleted the team's depth. He was vague when discussing the trade Thursday, declining to discuss Kendall's expected role in detail and defending the move by saying: "If you feel like it's a good deal for you, you do it."
Kendall, in his 12th season, was expected to arrive at Redskins Park late Friday afternoon.
Kendall was lauded by Mangini last season for helping left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson and center Nick Mangold develop as rookies. But things soured in the offseason when Kendall asked for the raise, feeling the Jets had reneged on an understanding that the four-year contract he signed last year would be redone after 12 months if he played well.
Rather than hold out, Kendall was at every practice during training camp because he didn't want to pay the possible $14,000 in fines for every absence. He worked mostly with the second-team offense as Adrien Clarke and sixth-round pick Jacob Bender - normally a tackle - practiced with the starters at left guard.
Kendall also worked as the backup center, a position he failed at two years ago when he was pushed into the role because of injures. Last weekend, he botched two snaps out of the shotgun in a preseason game against Minnesota.
Kendall spent three seasons with the Jets and previously played for Seattle and Arizona. He has 156 career starts.
"Pete and I had a great conversation last night," Mangini said. "I wished him well and he thanked me. We joked about having beverages on Cape Cod when I'm down there."

So.....tell me about this guy. Everything we've read in the DC area has been pretty positive. The only negative we're seeing is that he's 34. Dockery was a mauler for us and I hated seeing him go to the Bills. I really hope he can fill in for a year or 2 while we develop some younger guys to take over for him. Otherwise we're going to get Campbell killed.

he's going to be a great addition for the Redskins, I really hated that the Jets didn't keep him, because of him, Mangold and Ferguson(both rookies last season) were able to adapt a lot easier to the NFL during last seasons playoff run...now with him gone, i have no clue who will take over at LG and i expect that to affect the offense a great deal...he's pretty flexible as far as playing different positions, he filled in for Mawae at center back in 05 when Mawae tore a bicep...the fact that the Jets got a draft pick for him will probably help in the future, but not this season....there's word that the leading candidate for the LG is Jacob Bender a 6th round pick out of Nicholls State :what: ...the only highlight they show of him is pancaking Carriker, so we'll see...oh and i'm also glad the Dolphins didn't get him :woo: ..

basically, my league is like playing the market. you have a limited budget but you can fill the QB, RB slots, WR slots to the max, etc., if you want. however, it's not necessary. you can sell your higher-rated players to get two or more lower-ranked players during the season or trade them, if you want to, so overall, it's much riskier than other leagues.

it's going to be an even match for the most part, but i'm giving the colts a slight edge since they just came off a superbowl win, it's the home-opener, and the crowd will be pumped and not as hard on them since they won it all last year.

they lost too many defensive players.. and this game could come down to special teams.. ala Reggie Bush...

only a team like the 2005/2006 champ Steelers, 2003/04/05 Patsor last year's chargers could make the Colts sorry for not having an impressive defense. The Saint's don't have that sort of defense.

damn straight, the colts have a soft schedule this year...particularly this year. the saints have some fairly easy games, then midway, they get hit fairly hard.
at least i was partially right in my prediction through the first half, but the colts just destroyed the saints in the second half. at least football is here, and dallas clark looked awesome last night, :byrche:.
