Yea, I have a minolta that my grandfather gave me at 5 that is the same way, fully manual etc, I LOVE and adore that camera. It even made it through the accident (course that was probably the case I had it in) but still needed very few repairs. I still use it for film to this day and have no interest in upgrading to a new analog... i'll keep the 30 year old camera :smile:

And yea Canon is ONE of the best, but in all honesty the BEST digi SLR is going to be a Nikon, more expensive than canon, but amazing lenses ... they run about $7000 american... so I can't afford the one I want either, especially after you have to buy the lenses...:spin:

No, Canon has made the best SLRs for the best price. Beofre these digi rebels and sure shots, digi SLRs always ran over a couple thousand dollars. Canon brought the price down for the quality. They have a good selection of lenses as well, but not the BEST camera on the market, just the BEST under $5000...

When I said Canon was the best, I was referring to picture quality, not necessarily memory size or ergonomics.
Usually there is no memory in a higher end camera, only outside memory cards...
And really the pic quality isn't superior. Nikon has probably the best noise reduction technologies which should make their pics the best, in theory. :smile:

yeah, that's what i figured. i was just letting you know why i got the sony over the cannon. this thing still takes pretty nice pictures though. I'll post some whenever they get back. I only have one now, and it's of my older brother and his wife, i don't know if he'd appreciate me posting it on the net. :P
