i play Intermural softball on a team at my school and we had 3 games today (it was the playoffs and they decided to have it all in one day for some reason). I wasn't expecting us to do well, but we beat the first 2 teams (it was very close). Then the thrid team beat us like 8-12 b/c one inning our defense sucked ass. We did pretty good though considering we are all freshman and the other team was all like seniors.. some of which were like 28..30.. old. :nanner7:

my older brother coached LL football and he really enjoyed it. his team won the championship in there little league (actually there are a lot of teams b/c it's he lives in a big city)

Congrats on your ass kicking

Does that league have a mercy rule?

Does that league have a mercy rule?
yes....11 run lead, but it is after 4 innings and we only got 3 in.

We have a 7 run per inning rule as well. After breaking it twice, making it 14-0 after 2 innings, I took it easy on stealing home.

Not when your on the losing end.

It sucks when you are on a roll though. First inning, we came out like banshees. First 7 batters scored and we ended the inning with no outs. (thats when the rule sucks). But the rule helps keep the score closer..........sometimes. :nanner6:

For children's baseball games? Hardly! I coached a team that was so dominant, if we didn't get 20 runs in a game (5 per inning mercy rule) we were slumping.

Without the mercy rule their would be football scores, and the kids would get driven away from the game, which is never a good thing.

kids need to learn that some people are better than them at stuff

or maybe it will motivate them to try harder and stop sucking ass

17 - 3 gets that point across.

47 - 3 makes kids quit sports.

I just thought about something that happened during the game......My son pitched one into the dirt and the other coaches son swung at it. ( and missed) I yelled out FORE!........good thing I know the other coach and his son;)

Isn't it great pointing out children's faults in a blunt manner?

"Johnny, if you swing like that you won't get a hit the entire year. Do it the way I taught you"

"Hey coach, can I play first base?"
"Maybe when you learn how to catch a ball. Now go get in the outfield where you won't get hurt as easily."

Pretty good.. except I'd change the last one to "Maybe when you learn how to catch a ball. Now go sit on the bench where you won't get hurt as easily."

They pay the money, they get time on the field.

I once had a kid with the sweet disposition of a retarded butterfly play on my team. He was fat, slow, and stupid.

So apparently his mother thinks he should play baseball! You know, a game that requires thinking!

Anyways, the kid sat on the bench and played right field the whole season, and even there he got hurt! :shame:

I understand the mercy rule, especially with the way kids are nowadays, so now we've got someone telling them it's okay to lose, because the other team will always just be forced to let up. It's never fun to lose, but when I played that just always made me want to get better and kick some ass.

Our first game of the season is tomorrow against the team we just scrimmaged. The other teams manager is a friend of mine and that was the reason I "let up" a bit. But his brother was like "EFF that man...these kids gotta learn to stop throwing the ball around".........I just stopped counting @ 17 runs :nuke:

PatrickBateman

That would make the games even more exciting.I wonder if the league discourages such activity

jazz

and if they mess up the bet, you slap them around, grab 'em by the arm and say: "what's the matter with you, eh? you trying to fucking sabotage me or something? i don't EVER want to see you pulling that type of shit on me again. you hear me?!"
