Adobe and Macromedia
Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR) in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, which has been approved by both boards of directors, Macromedia stockholders will receive, at a fixed exchange ratio, 0.69 shares of Adobe common stock for every share of Macromedia common stock in a tax-free exchange. Based on Adobe’s and Macromedia’s closing prices on Friday April 15, 2005, this represents a price of $41.86 per share of Macromedia common stock.

The combination of Adobe and Macromedia strengthens our mission of helping people and organizations communicate better. Through the combination of our powerful development, authoring and collaboration tools – and the complementary functionality of PDF and Flash – we have the opportunity to drive an industry-defining technology platform that delivers compelling, rich content and applications across a wide range of devices and operating systems.

By combining the passion and creativity of two leading-edge companies, we will continue driving innovations that are changing the ways people everywhere are experiencing and interacting with information.

Adobe is required to include the following legend on any communications that may be deemed to be offering or soliciting material under the applicable SEC rules and regulations:

Yup. I have the Studio MX... I actually paid for it too!

Here's a site I did for the local chapter of the SCCA. It had to be kept simple so that peeps without any experience could update it (I'm not the webmaster for the site, just the designer). www.nepa-scca.com I'm not exactly thrilled with, but I had about a month to do it and I was also ending a semester at the same time, so, if I could have done things differently, I would have.

I agree. Their products work together anyway...I think it will be beneficial for the consumer in that instead of buying two different packages...

Thanks Tzar! I'm probably going to redo the entire site as things have changes the ease for upates no longer applies... I have free reign!!! WOO HOO!!!

Dion- I subscribe to Mac Design and they are currently changing their name to Layers magazine and will be dedicated to covering only Adobe products. I sent a rant to them saying "you mean to tell me that you're not covering Macro products anymore!?!?!" They wrote back :That's right. Sneaky dogs obvioulsy weren't telling me all they knew!!!

My house? No. The neighbors across the street are technically on a flood plain and some of them got nailed pretty good. There were other river side towns in my area that got clobbered though. I don't know of any houses floating away and stuff like that, but many got water on their first above ground floor. That sucks... It was worse during Hurricane Ivan though.
