Hell, no...I can hope, but I would be surprised if they even got there. I think we'll miss Pedro and I'm not sold on Wells at all. And Miller is still a question mark. The bullpen may save us, but that's providing we can stay in the game that long. I'm hoping Clement will be good and if Schill is healthy, we still have a chance. But we're already starting without him, so that is not good. He probably won't be with the program until May or June. He's still in spring training mode.

Awww, fer sure. I know what you mean. One time, I took a friend to a hockey game because she wanted to get a glimpse of my other world, as she called it (she's clueless about every sport, except maybe baseball)...Anyway, I spent the entire game explaining every time the whistle blew, offsides, penalties, you name it. And the kicker is her dad played minor league hockey. She just didn't get into sports one bit.

I have my sister and my mom, though. My whole family is sports crazy. It's just so much fun and we all have such a great time watching games together when we can. Last year, I got to watch the Super Bowl with my whole family plus a bunch of friends...40 people crammed into my bro's house. It was awesome, especially since the Pats won...This year, I had to work on the Super Bowl, so I was the only one missing...

Yup, the last three have been at my brother's. He is one hell of a cook, so the food is always kick-ass. He built this big-ass smoker in the back yard, I swear, it looks like a Viking or something, the stacks are so high. I'm surprised no one's complained to the zoning board, hehe. He did ribs and chicken on it, plus, he had all this Mexican food and just a shitload of stuff. Everybody brings stuff, like snacks and beer.

If you are refering to Joe Juneau, he retired after the playoffs last year.

Let's take a journey into the Bruins offseason. Who didn't they re-sign? Mike Knuble (Phi), Michael Nylander (NYR), Brian Rolston (MIN), Sean O'Donnell (PHX), Doug Doull (PHX). Also, Glen Murray is an Unrestricted Free Agent and can sign anywhere.

That's about 80 goals and a lot of muscle gone from the team. So who did they sign to replace them? Tom Fitzgerald (Tor) Pfft, a fringe player at best. Bruins are screwed.

Yes, this goes without saying. The Jacobs boys are shitty owners. They are still living off the glory days of the 70s. They get good people, but then they don't keep them. Can you say Bill Ranford? They got him back after his reign in Edmonton.
I'm bummed about Murray. He finally got his shit together and now they probably won't pay him. It's a miracle Bourque stayed as long as he did.

I'm glad we can agree on Koivu. That man is an ispiration to me. In return, I won't fuck with Raycroft. He's their goalie for the future and fully deserved the Calder trophy. Lots of respect for the rookie.

Zednik is a 25 goal man, Ryder had a great rookie season, Ribiero is a fucking pest when he has the puck, Souray arguably has the hardest shot in the league, and the prospects coming up next year (Perezhogin, Plekanec, Higgins) will leave your jaw gaping. Throw a UFA up on the top line like Kovalev (sweet son of a bastard please come back) or Selanne and you have some potent top lines.

Kovalev didn't do so bad. It took him a while before he got his shit together, too, but he seemed to do well up your way. I know he had his problems in New York...Raycroft is the shit. Kovalev - That wrist thing

Ribiero - Probably faking an injury, then taunting the Bruin bench

Meh, the Yankees have always spent a ton on their players and they still managed not to win it all, like when the Jays won in what, 92 and 93 I think? The spending sprees of the Sox have been approaching the Yankees spending mostly since Lucchino and company have taken over. And look at some of the teams that have won in the last few years...the Marlins, Angels. They weren't exactly breaking the bank spending-wise. Hell, the first time the Marlins won, Wayne Huizenga had a fire sale. Edgar Renteria and Livan Hernandez were on that first team I think...So don't despair. It could happen.

there needs to be another Braves fan here. :frown:
Awwww, no offense, but I don't like the Braves. They've won like 12 or 13 division titles in a row...enough already. If the Red Sox can't win it this year, I'm rooting for the Cubs to win it because they had even a longer title drought than the Sox. If not the Cubs, then the Phillies. The people in Philly are ready to jump off the bridges with no pro team winning a title since the Sixers won in '83, I think it was. And they were so bummed about the Super Bowl loss to the Pats. They are still talking about it here. I wish they cared more about baseball here.

Now the AP is saying the fan grazed Sheffield's face with his right arm in some sort of upper-cut swing. This is fucked up.

Sounds like it was a great game to watch.

Jays won 2 - 1. Halladay with a complete game. It would be nice if the Yanks and Sox split their season series 50-50. Might give the rest of the division a chance.

Except Tampa.

Tampa sucks.

Yeah, it's always nuts with Sox/Yankees. Of course, they brought up the 2003 ALCS when Karim Garcia and another Yankeed got into it with a Sox ground crew guy ...Last year, the Sox won the season series by a game. Just as it should be, hehe. That's awesome about Hallady.

Sheffield said he felt like his lip was busted open and wanted to beat the guy down, but he thought of the consequences...

the marlins got fucking robbed. in the ninth, cabrera's foot clearly touched the plate and the stupid ump called him out. it resulted in the score only being 3-3, when it should've been 4-3. the mets wound up scoring the winning run in the ninth.

:livid:

why can't they implement a challenge system like in football when it comes to shit like this?

The umps seem to be getting worse and worse. They were so lame in the latest Sox/Yankees series.

Hey now.....to be fair, the Cards had an EXCELLENT shot at getting into the Series last season. That, and Pujols is just......wow, that man has skills.

BUT....I was rooting for the SAWX all the way, haha! :rasta:
