If so, how is it? How does it compare to the PSP? Just curious! :nanner7:

Well, I guess it's safe to assume that no one here owns a DS. :shrug2:

I don't, but I soon will. Now that I have my PSP (LUMINES kicks major @ss), I'd like to get the Nintendo DS.

I've played Wario, Touched! at Best Buy, and it's a lot of fun. Great use of the "innovative" ideas.

Yoshi Touch & Go looks pretty cool, too.

Plus, ya know they're bound to put out a Zelda game just for the DS, so I'll have it when they do. Hey, it's NINTENDO!

I bought one last night. It's really cool and a lot of fun.

Compared to the PSP?

Well, aesthetically, the DS pales in comparison to the PSP. The PSP is gorgeous whereas the DS looks like an oversized make-up compact. I prefer the widescreen to the two stacked small screens. But, as we all know, looks aren't everything.

Gameplay on the DS is loads of fun. I only have Wario, Touched! right now, but that game alone had me playing for two hours straight. There's a really cool-looking game called ELECTROPLANKTON that uses the features of the DS, set to music (very cool) that's coming out sometime this year I'd like to get as well.

Gameplay on the PSP is really fun, too. I love the analog nub, especially for games like Wipeout Pure and Mercury. Plus, the screen just draws me into the game like no other handheld. It's more comfortable to hold, too.

All in all, I love both systems for their own unique reasons.

I'm getting one tomorrow.

I can't decide what game to get. I'm debation between Mario or 1 of 2 GBA games.
Fire Emblem or Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga (or something like that)

Any RPG fans have any advice?

I have both a PSP and a DS... wich is better...... so far the PSP just due to the fact that sony has put out more games. I think once nintendo gets off there arse and puts out a new metroid, zelda, mario, ect.... the DS will win the fight

I haven't seen anything from the DS, really. Just that new Castlevania and a little of Mario 64 DS or whatever it is.

Castlevania should be quite good, I'm playing a rom of the immediate predecessor to that (on gba), called Aria of Sorrow, and it's not too bad.

For those interested, you can actually get roms of DS games too

I should see what they're like... I've seen roms for metroid prime: hunters and mario...

AoS is a fucking awesome game.

I have both the PSP and DS now. As of now, i like my DS better because PSP is mostly sports games right now. I hate sports games, except i bought hot shots golf for my psp and it's cool. Lumines is a GREAT game, but that's the only really good game for psp at the moment, imo. Dark Stalkers may be good, though.

Mario for the DS is really good. Warioware touched looks good as well.
The new Kirby and Goldeneye both come out this month, which are both supposed to be really good. From all the previews i have looked at, the DS has 5 or 6 games i'm looking foreward to.

So, from the games that are out and the games that have been announced to come out, I like the DS better. Once the PSP has some games that are more adventure like, rather than pick up and play type games, then my opinion may change.

I am, and I don't want it, so no, it doesn't. :shades:

I do want Electroplankton, though. It looks and sounds really cool.

Also want the new Super Mario Brothers game for DS. :mario3:

I highly suggest Lumines for PSP. It's an awesome game. Addictive as hell, too. The graphics are great, the music sticks in your head, and it's just really fun.

I love Lumines. The Timeline feature that the game uses is really cool, along with the graphics and sound.

Yep! I still have yet to find a (reasonably priced) copy of Rez.

He is also responsible for METEOS for the DS. It looks pretty cool, too. Not sure when it's coming out, though.

Well, I got a DS today. It was a day early Father's Day gift. It came with a free copy of Super Mario 64. It's charging right now, so I've only checked it out for a minute or 2. I have a PSP...but the games just aren't doing anuthing for me. The DS's dual screen and touch feature got me intrigued. Well, thanks for all the feedback....you guys helped me out in my decision. :love2:

A couple of games that truly take advantage of the cool features of the DS are "Feel the Magic" and "Wario TOUCHED!". Wario is loads of fun. I highly recommend it.

Jones mentioned the new Kirby game. It does look really good. I tried "Yoshi Touch & Go". Didn't have much fun w/it. It's not really a full-fledged platforming game like "Kirby Canvas Curse" is supposed to be.

Kudos on getting the DS!

I just bought Meteos 3 days ago. I really like it.

I can't decide between this or Lumines. I'll just say they both kick ass.

There's some new shooter game for the DS, Nanostray. It looks like a cool game too.

I loved my DS so much more than my PSP that I just trsded my PSP in for store credit towards the Xbox 360 yesterday....They gave me $202 credit for it. I just lost all interest in the PSP. The DS is just more fun. Only minor problem is that my kids (5 and 7) play it as well...and there are a few scratches on the touch screen. Still works perfect though....plus I bought the $15 replacement EB plan (good for a year). Once I bring it back for a new one, I may get a screen protector.

i got the screen protector but theres still a number of scratches on it?! ah well.
i preorderd the psp with the new gta game comming out. I doubt it'll stop me from playing my DS though

I've lost interest in my PSP too. There's just not any great games for it now, and the games that are planned to be released this year just don't look good. Well, Meidevil (however it's spelled) looks pretty cool.

I love my DS, though.

Like I said you guys, if you want some good gba games for your ds... Mega Man Zero! It's not like the classic mega man universe, and very different from those battle network things. And it has a good story (following on from the X series). And good gameplay.

It's better than the recent X games.

if you want em' actually, I could give out some roms...

gonna try and have a read of the latest versions.

Antoni30
December 13th, 2005, 12:38 PM
Some DS games I'd like to get:

The new Castlevania game
Trace Memory
That surgery game
Mario Cart DS

There's another one that's coming to the US, already in Japan. Something about brain exercises. You turn the DS sideways so that the screens are side-by-side for some (or maybe all) of the game, working both sides of the brain.

I've read they are going to redesign the DS itself. I may wait until then to get one again.

If they apply the style of the Micro to the DS, that'd be sweet.
