i feel like i am shoveling my money into a giant pile for some money-devouring creature when i rent movies at blockbuster.
unfortunately in my neighbourhood blockbuster is the only video rental place. i rarely rent movies due to that fact.

It doesn't look that bad. I'm trying out the 1 dvd at a time and unlimited PC stream. I figure that gets me at least 3 DVDs a month and the unlimited for only 9 bucks. That's less than I spend now on PPV between Live and Amazon Unbox.

I had blockbuster for a little while. It worked for me. I liked being able to walk into anyblockbuster with an envelope and use it toward a movie without having to pay. Blockbuster store would ship it and as soon as they received it, it was checked in and the next one was signaled to ship out.
It was very streamlined and quick. I was never without a movie. To each his own I guess...

And...I started a petition to make VHS available to renters. :dopey:
It went through but one of the stipulations was that it would have to fit in the current Netflix regulation envelope. :blah: My attorney advised that I should comply with their demands or grow a tail and stick it between my legs.
So all I have to do is unpack the film and wind it on my empty cassette. :woo:

I'm not sure I like their "instant" service. I got a couple weeks to decide though.

I haven't tried Netflix. I'm kind of a streaky renter, so I don't think it would work for me. I can't remember the last time I rented a movie :what:

lmao^^^^
I went ahead and made a subscription to Netflix for the same reasons the OP said, availability. Everything in my queue....all 160 movies are available when Blockbuster had everything on an extremely long wait. Fuck BB!!
I'm mainly doing it to get season DVDs for a while. I'm getting the cartoon season DVDs of The Flintstones, Jetsons, Disney Characters, Duck Tales, TMNT of the 80s, Huckleberry, Chip n Dale, Inspector Gadget, etc...
Why? I got rid of my DirecTV DVR and I figured I'd share the cartoons of old from back in my day with her....I just know she's going to enjoy them. I was looking at the price of them on Xbox Live Arcade.........the prices are ridiculous! On top of that...I'd need to get a 120 GB hard drive in order to have room for them. Then what happens when I no longer use the 360....all that would go to waste.
That's why I figured I'd get a Netflix subscription, get these movies and burn them. So tight!! For the six seasons of The Flintstones....you're looking at $200. Haha....I'mma get that shit for$20 worth, yo! :wired:

They really needed to revamp "watch instantly" before selling those. It'd be a lot better if you could DL the video files with DRM at whatever resolution of your choosing or available. Kind of like PPV through Live or Amazon Unbox. The service as it is now is kind of janky. Sometimes it works great and I get DVD picture quality. Other times, it's complete shit and the streams won't maintain.

DO NOT INSTALL OR DOWNLOAD AVG ANIT-VIRUS IF YOU USE NETFLIX AND WATCH INSTANTLY. :shame:
I found out the hard way that AVG fucks up your registry and watch instantly doesn't work now. :rage:
