- Gamespot.com had something about it and so I went over to Xbox's forums (Halo 2 forum) and found this thread that had this information:
First off, the information was leaked via a Game Rush employee. Game Rush is an actual chain of game merchandise outlets. Here is what the employee had to say.
"Just signing on to let people know that it was announced to the Game Rush store managers today by our regional Game Rush director that on May 19th (date is supposedly a place holder, not confirmed), Bungie will be releasing a Halo 2 expansion pack containing 7-9 new multiplayer maps and some new weapons.
The only reason I take this seriously is because our GRD has always been accurate with the info he gives us, and because he said a part number was being uploaded into our computers within the next couple of days for preorders. He also said that an official announcement was going to be made today (well, technically yesterday now, but I digress) at 4pm pacific, but as far as I can see/tell, that hasn't happened, so make of that what you will.
Again, I'm not on here to start fake rumors or anything, nor am I even saying it's confirmed; I'm just passing on the info I got at work from someone higher than me. I know a lot of people (myself included) have been excited about DLC/Expansion packs ever since Bungie said they were going to happen, so that's why I'm posting.
Keep your fingers crossed, because it would be awesome to get some more variety on Live."
Now, we all know we cannot trust word of mouth alone. Especially when it comes to DLC.
Here is more proof from an actual Microsoft website from Korea:
