Riddick was an excellent game.
You definitely should finish Breakdown. One of the most rewarding gaming experiences for me. Very tough, but well worth it. The most awesome story line ever in a game. Talk about mindfuck movies, that was a mindfuck game.

Exclusive Interview: Starbreeze Discusses New Riddick Game, Darkness Sequel Rumors, and more! (Part 1 of 2)
By xper • April 23, 2008
Last night we got a chance to talk to two key Starbreeze figures at the last Game Developers Evening, arranged by the Swedish Game Awards committee, in Stockholm, Sweden. Robert Nyberg, HR (human resources) Manager at Starbreeze and Jens Andersson, lead designer on The Darkness, took their time to talk to the Kezins.com staff.
Both Robert and Jens put up two great presentations for the event, with Robert focusing on Starbreeze as a company, and Jens giving an insight into the development tools that is their in-house engine, Ogier.
Robert Nyberg has been with Starbreeze since The Chronicles of Riddick, and is now in the middle of working on the next (secret) project code named “Red Line”. Starbreeze has a deal with EA to bring one of their old IP’s back to life, and only one person has guessed the right IP so far.
Robert won’t tell us what that title is just yet, but he and Jens were kind enough to spill some beans about the new Riddick game, the multiplayer in The Darkness, the state of the PC industry and differences working on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, in this first part of a two part interview.
Where are you in the development stage of Riddick?
- [RN] I can’t comment on that in detail, but it is going to be released this year. So, the development stage is that the game is looking really, really good and we are playing it on a daily basis. We have multiplayer tests every day.
Are there any multiplayer features in Riddick you can talk about?
- [JA] Nothing’s official yet.
- [RN] No game modes are announced at this point. But there definitely is multiplayer, and it is very cool…

here is the newest trailer.
http://kotaku.com/5137043/riddick-waxes-philosophical-on-desperation
read this too:
The first is a remake of Escape From Butcher Bay, with all updated visuals and upgrades to combat mechanics (you now fight more than one opponent at a time in hand to hand combat and Riddick is a tad faster).
The second game is Assault on Dark Athena which is the sequel to Butcher Bay and is a completely new game added on.
Butcher Bay was at least 8-10 hours long (I think?) and Starbreeze is promising Dark Athena to be just as long, so if you're interested in a fantastic looking 20 hour long game, here it is.

I really would have preferred that they leave the remake out of it. I just don't see what the point is and it would just make me feel obligated to play it since it's there...(and i'm sure includes achievements)

Atari is about to find out whether one of its investments has paid off. After having been dumped by Activision and rescued by Phil Harrison's outfit, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena has a date.
Dark Athena will be arriving in North America on April 7, bringing with it both a new campaign and an HD remake of the original Escape from Butcher Bay. As Escape from Butcher Bay was one of the best shooters of the last generation, it's a hell of a deal.
Playable demos will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network in March, just in case you're on the fence. You can take it from us though - this one looks pretty darn good.
oh yeah.
